About Julie

What makes a great caregiver is someone who has a passion to help other people and who also has empathy. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor in Social Work. I chose this field because I love helping other people. I feel that in the United States, our elderly are not properly taken care of and a lot of them are exploited, abused and ignored. I want to join a group of people that prevents this from happening. My mother has Alzheimer's and I have worked with the elderly in The Caring Place in Georgetown and I have a lot of compassion for people of all ages, but especially the elderly. I love learning from them and I look forward to working with them. I will treat your mom or dad like they were my own and I always give 200% in what I do. I am always on time and I am a very dedicated and motivated caregiver.

    As a contractor for a mental health facility, I am responsible for the safety and care of clients with mental disabilities. My responsibilities range from helping them exercise to transporting them to places they need or like to go while their parents are at work or otherwise engaged. I have worked with clients in wheelchairs as well as clients that are bi-polar and/or autistic. I have a great relationship with both the clients and their families and love going to work every day.

    My mother has Alzheimer's and I have spent many years helping her through this traumatic change in her life. Although she still lives with my dad, he gets frustrated very easily and has a difficult time dealing with her. Before I came to Texas, I was there to help my mom in every possible way. I have taken courses in Aging and Alzheimer's and that is where I think that I can do the most good.

    I helped get many programs up and running while I worked at The Caring Place. I worked with the elderly in every step of organizing and running a huge Soup Supper to raise money for the Georgetown Texas community. I was also involved in selling tickets for the annual employee night out, which involved a dinner and a movie. I worked directly with the community engagement manager to help raise funds for the center as well as helping in all of the different departments.
