I cared for Mrs. Beaver's husband who had Alzheimer's disease. I grocery shopped and fixed meals for him and took him to his doctor and personal care appointments. I called in, picked up and dispensed his medications to him. I cued him on showering, shaving, brushing teeth, and dressing. I directed him in activities such as minor household chores and in filling out a memory book to help with his cognizance. I took him outside of the home for activities such as going for walk, drives and eating out. I was able to spot potentially tension-causing behaviors in him and redirected him in order to calmly diffuse situations. I also watched for signs of dehydration and kept him hydrated and monitored his blood pressure. When Mrs. Beaver would go on vacations for as long as 2.5 weeks at a time, I stayed in their home the whole time to care for him. I did everything I could to improve his quality of life so that his life could remain purposeful despite his condition. I also managed Mrs. Beaver's household. I directed repair people and advised Mrs. Beaver on repairs. I also shopped and cooked for her as well. I kept cleaning and other household supplies stocked. Whenever the maids could not finish cleaning the house in time, I finished. I handled Mrs. Beaver's dry cleaning and made sure the trash and recycling were taken to the curb for pick up. I also maintained Mrs. Beaver's cats by feeding them, changing their litter box, and taking them to the vet.
