About Stacey

I am a family oriented person as well as caregiver. Positive character with significant experience with seniors. I am extremely enthusiastic about my clients and the amazing field of care-giving in general. I do have a varied background in the care giving industry, as well as the medical industry in general. Being a more experienced caregiver I tend get along with my clients very well. Seniors have always been a soft spot for me. In the beginning of my training when I was a CNA I had the privilege of being trained in a physical therapy dept, so I am very familiar with safe transfer techniques as well as good body mechanics. Stacey has been a Senior Caregiver for approximately 9 years now, I just finished working with an Alzheimer's client until the first week in Sept. Helping him to adjust to moving into a facility where he required day and night care. My work experiences here in Texas have been AMAZING!! I look forward to MY NEXT ADVENTURE!! OH and I LOVE ANIMALS TOO! My experience has been and IS these critters are a very important part of my clients and my family as well!! Care-giving in ALL ASPECTS is a RICH RICH EXPERIENCE that I LOVE VERY MUCH!!!

Alzheimer's Private Caregiver

Aug 2017 - Present
Vickie & Mark Deike
This position is ONGOING - Alzheimer's' client, My FT service will end Sept 3rd. This position has been AMAZING! It has evolved into a family affair. I help my client get dressed, shower, make his meals, take him to his appointments, we go out to lunch occasionally & we go for walks in his families nice big back yard. Helping him has been a very rewarding job. This is a family so I ended up helping with the kids, the dogs, the cats and occasionally a few dishes and some laundry.

Nancy Harris
Private in home Hospice care. This little lady was ambulatory & completely alert when I first started with her. She just needed basically someone to stand by to make sure she was safe and didn't fall. We made her meals, helped her with her bath, medications and kept her company. She, being a hospice patient, became bedridden which made her care change to bed baths, changing bedding and rotating her every two hours. We worked closely with her hospice company to facilitate the nurses requests. This beautiful little lady passed away the 2nd week of October.

Ms. Mary has the beginnings of Alzheimer's. I made lunch & did some house cleaning, wash dishes, and sat and watched a TV show with her when she wanted me to. I took care of Ms Mary's husband James when he was alive for over a year and a half working for Right at Home.

Caregiver

Aug 2014 - May 2015
Right At Home, Bryan
During this time I took care of one patient. I had been with this client previously when he and his family were with another company. We were both unhappy with that company so my client transferred to Right At Home along with his Caregivers. I was the main caregiver for this 85 year old man. This client was a stroke patient. At the beginning of his care I drover him to Dr's appts which was mainly physical therapy for his recovery from his stroke. These appts for 3 times a week. He excelled rapidly but got cocky and when caregiver and family were not present broke his right hip while attempting to walk to bathroom by himself. This client started to go downhill after he broke his hip and became a hospice patient. I worked with Hospice RN and Aid in his changing condition. This started out as assisting aid with showers since it was now a two person job, I had done previously by myself. This AMAZING client I will NEVER forget passed in Jan of 2015. I stayed on with this company in taking care of an Alzheimers patient @ Watercrest in Bryan. She really didn't require much care just companionship, assisted with her medications and did encourage her to take showers, change clothes, brush teeth and this kind of thing. She at in the dining room so I didn't have to cook but did assist her towards the end as she was having trouble a little socially and carrying her tray etc.

Home Instead
I was hired by this company as soon as I arrived her from California with my son and his family. My son had just gotten out of the Marine Corp and came to Texas to attend school. This company was not a very posetive experience. They did not keep me very busy and treated their caregivers like minimum wage employees. I left their employee when they in my eyes did some very unethical things. I am VERY protective of my clients and their family especially my previous client and his family. For this company the reference if needed will be from the family not the company.

Helping Hands Senior Home Care
This company was a FABULOUS care company. They took REALLY good care of their caregivers as well as their clients. I had a couple of initial short assignments designed to keep me busy, but I did end up with a basically bed bound client. He was diabetic so we were involved in his diet restrictions, as well as his blood sugar maintenance. He did get up in his wheel chair and loved being outside in his garden. We cooked and cleaned as well as helped him getting dressed and with bed baths. This patient passed shortly after I had moved to Texas. VERY SWEET client.
