I like to treat them as if they're a family member because I would want any caregiver to treat my family member the same. Treat them with respect even tho they have a certain disability they are still an human being. Treat them with love even though we don't know it but having a pure heart and love is all they look for and wants not just someone taking care of them. Just them having a smile on their face when they see me makes my day because I know I feel wanted in their presence.

I became interested in being a caregiver due to familial needs and necessity when my grandmother, who had alzheimer's syndrome, was being cared for by my mother. I helped by giving my mother some weekend respite by caring for my grandmother one day each weekend. This occurred in my 20's, as I was a young married mother, working a full-time position during the work-week. My best achievement was in caring for a gentleman aged 108. With proper care and meal preparation, utilizing my skill in ayurvedic food and spice knowledge, I managed to have him up and doing up to six laps per day (with his walker) throughout the house. He enjoyed the activity and the change of environment immensely. He enjoyed the food and basically ate every single morsel. He increased his body's strength, as well as strengthening his memory. It was truly a miraculous change in his health and overall quality of life.
Hi.I has been working as a housekeeper for a long time, so keeping the house tidy for the senior needs will be a plus. In my past senior care giver jobs I drived a lot: appointments, errands, or just to visit a friend or family. I can travel with the client or just help with traveling arrengement. I love to cook and can almost cook anything. Im a very good listener and love a good story about old times. I can manage time efficiently and I'm a very good organizer. I will communicate with the family if there's any concerns occurring in the client daily life. Love to accompany in wals, excersicing, watching movies, or any other entertainment that isn't extreme (like skydiving). I also speak Spanish, and understand Portuguese.I like pets (dogs also if they don't try to bite me) and can walk the pets.
I have always had a passion for the elderly. It's actually carried over through my grown kids because my husband shares this passion with me and we instilled that passion in our kids as they grew up. I have spent the last 8 yrs of my life taking care of my grandmother, whom had dementia. Also caring for my father who was a dialysis and wound care patient. Now that they both are gone I am ready to give my time, love and skills to someone else's loved one that needs care and companionship. I am available Monday thru Friday from 8am till 4 pm!
I am a very passionate and caring person with good heart. I have over 7 years experience as a care giver and have worked in hospital, skilled nursing , memory care, rehabilitation and home care setting. I also have a valid CNA licence, and CPR certification. After taking care of my Dad as he battled stroke for 10 years, I decided to work in healthcare and assist in making impact to our elderly . What I love most about my job is the privilege to be able to put smiles on their faces daily. I currently volunteer at major care facility in the city and I am always looking forward to serve.
Around 5 years ago I made the change to help others, I started out working with the company Rescare helping out special needs kids, I realized quickly that I had a gift and I'll never look back. Surely enough an old friend of mine offered me a part time working with his Dad doing caregiver duties. I'm very grateful that I've been given patience and compassion to help others out. I'm a very easy going guy, I've been told I'm kind of an old soul. I enjoy conversation with others and definitely trying to laugh every day. Life is all about attitude.
I've lived in USA for 13 years, I was born and raised in Sweden. I've cared and still are caring for my 4 children. I'm now ready to start going back out in the workforce. I know I would be a great asset to any senior lady who would need assistance. Prior to becoming a mom I've worked as an LVN with seniors at nursing homes and at their own homes. I enjoy helping those in need.
