About Essence

I am a recent college graduate of Texas Woman's University and I obtained a Bachelor's of Arts in Dance and a minor in Education. With this degree I am also a certified teacher in the state of Texas. The reason I chose this career is because I love helping people whether it's a student or someone else outside of the classroom that needs more one on one help or companionship. Home health care is very satisfying to me especially when you can be that person to ensure a client has a good day . Building positive relationships with them is very beneficial for both you and them because you get more of a sense of their likes and dislikes. I plan to continue my education to get my Masters in Special Education and home health care will also be something I plan to do more of.

I was in a group home setting and worked overnight. I cooked dinner and assisted clients with anything they needed done. I used a check in and out system for medication with a scanner and laptop when I gave meds and also kept track of client progress. Overnight I checked on clients periodically and did any paperwork that needed to be done. In the mornings I would everyone up, prepare breakfast and give medication to those who have morning meds.
