Good day. I am a 56 yr old father of 4, experienced caregiver. I attended Baylor University in the 80's for a couple of years before enlisting in the USAF. I worked with students with disabilities for Northside ISD for many years. For a few years now, I've immersed myself in the seniors care field and have devoted my work to assist the families of: a WWII 94yr old veteran with dementia and blindness, a 63 yr old retired DEA agent with Parkinson's symptoms, a charming southern lady with fall risks, an army veteran with Alzheimer's, and a former Texas cowboy with post-traumatic brain injury. I'm well versed in providing many services required in at-home caregiving. I have helped with everything from mobility, light housekeeping/meal prep, meds mngmnt, and bathing to companionship, bathing, wound care, and physical/occupational/speech therapy exercises. I enjoy the responsibility of assisting a 65 yr old male recovering from traumatic brain injury. Among my many duties, A.B. requires help with walking/balance/equilibrium issues; some help with decision making. He calls me his shadow. I can cook, clean, feed, transfer, converse, bathe, etc. Our main concern is falls and risky decision making that can and have forced him back to the hospital throughout.

Over my 13 or so years with the Northside Independent School district, I worked exclusively with teaching staff working with students with disabilities. I worked at several campuses assisting with all age groups ranging from Pre K thru post high school. Most of my work entailed working one-on-one with young people suffering from autism to A.T. to MS, etc. Currently, I am the main caregiver for my 66 year old aunt who has been in a wheelchair since she was 13. She suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.
