I became a caregiver at the age of 16. Being a teenage mother gave me the unsight of taking care of people. My mother was also a caregiver. I have over 25yrs experience as a professional caregiver working in a home, hospital and rehabilitation setting. I also worked full-time private care for two residents i met and cared for through an agency i was part of. I've worked in residential care facilities, my duties included meal planning and preparation, prescription ordering, vital signs and documentation, housekeeping, transportation, and medication. The fact that im entrusted with the safety and well-being of the elderly, handi-capped and dependent makes me want to shine. Im a very compassionate person and a dedicated employee. All of my personal achievements are too many to name but improud to have recieved them. The facility im a part of currently was just recognized in Washington and we eere awarded a plaque for Outstanding Excellence In Care. I am very proud to be a caregiver and companion , it's a full-filling career and you meet and learn alot about all kinds of people from different walks of life...and you never stop learning.
