When I was 9 years old my older brother got shot. He became paralyzed instantly when the bullet hit his spinal cord. The first few years were tough but it took getting used to and when I was 11 I came to realize that he needed help in things that I never realized people in his condition experienced. He was incontinent with his bowls and urine. It was tough seeing him struggle with daily living activities when I took it for granted. So I started helping my mother with caring for him and I guess you can say helping my brother helped me realized that I love caring for those that need a little bit of TLC.
