I love people especially seniors. I like the idea of enabling seniors to stay in their homes as long as they possibly can. I believe that if they are in their own home they do better and they are happier because they are in more familiar surroundings, in their homes. I am compassionate and I am attentive which is important especially with patients that are Diabetic and those who deal with Dementia or Alzheimers. I have always loved seniors. At an early age I had a lot of interaction with seniors, I found that there is a lot of wisdom to be gleaned from them. I learned to love and respect them so it is natural that I would be drawn to helping Seniors. I love being a caregiver because it is fulfilling to say the least. In some way I am able to give back and make a difference in someone's life. I would say that one thing I consider an achievement is to know that there are times that I have made a difference in peoples lives and even if it was for a brief moment I was able to help someone smile and to endure even when all seemed to be hopeless. I have been a caregiver in nursing homes (respite care) hospitals, private sitting, home health agencies, and I have worked in hospice care as well.
