Hello, my name is Margaret and I've been a caregiver for over 8 years. I became a caregiver after assisting and caring for my grandmother. It was so fulfilling and just brought joy to my heart to just be able to be there for her during this fragile time in her life. What I really like about caregiving is helping the elderly accomplish their needs and fulfilling their desires, such as taking them to the hair salon / barber shop, or to the mall just to look around. Some may want to go dancing or bowling. I've even driven a 92 year old to Colorado for a vacation . What ever their heart desires. I am a very honest, nurturing, enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate caring person . I have had experience with demensia, stroke patients, diabetes, transporting to doctors appointments and outings. I do light house keeping, managing medication, grocery shopping and so much more. About me, I am a nurturing, honest, dependable, enthusiastic and reliable caregiver. I often call to check on them on my days off, just to make sure their alright. My job is to give them all the care that they need.
I became a caregiver when I decided to leave teaching, and have been extremely successful at finding positions as a private contractor. I quickly learned that my education and background were very useful in forming close bonds with my clients and their families. I consistently maintain a positive outlook and tailor my care to the individual, researching their disease, their background, and family history to establish common bonds and maintain a professional approach to work.
