My name is Cassandra and I have been a medical assistant for about 21 years and a certified nursing assistant for 16 years. I have experience in hospital settings and clinics, from Oncology, Medical Surgical ,PCU and ER.I currently work at Texas Health hospital as a Patient Care Technician on the Medical Surgical unit. The main reason why I wanted to work in the healthcare field was to be able to help others. As a teenager, I was responsible for taking care of my grandparents when they were ill with cancer. I knew then, that was my calling to work with the public or do everything I could to make their lives a little bit happier. One of my personal achievement, was going back to school in my late 30's. My daughters were older( 11 & 16) when I went back to school at the age of 39. I was a little afraid in the beginning but after a few weeks, I was able to manage my time as a wife,mom and student.This summer (2015) I will be graduating with my A.A.of Arts degree from Collin College.When I'm not attending school part-time, I scrapbook and create slideshows for different occasions like family reunion, birthday parties, graduations and baby showers.
