About Patricia

As a senior carer, I relate well with those I serve. I have not met anyone who does not feel comfortable in my presence and I am flexible and reliable to answer short notice calls. I love to listen to life-stories and I encourage my new friends to share their life stories with me as we become quickly acquainted. My idea of serving others is providing a service which promotes autonomy in the comfort of their homes or in the homes of loved ones. My greatest concern and focus are safety and compliance of all house rules with a mutual respect for those whom I serve!

My major objective for becoming a caregiver is to make a difference in people's lives. People need a doctor to diagnose and treat their diseases and ailments, they need a nurse to administer medication and treatment when they are sick. However, at all times they need a caregiver to listen to them, attend to their everyday needs and treat them with compassion. That is where I come in. What I like about being a caregiver is that it affords me the opportunity to use what I have, the skill, knowledge, experience coupled with love, honesty and integrity to help people in need. One personal achievement I am proud of is the completion of the NRCPT Phlebotomy Technician's certificate and yet, rather than sit down to do venipuncture, I chose to do what I like most--care for people. I have worked in various aspects of the healthcare system. Overseas, I worked as pharmacy technician, medical assistant and nursing assistant for eight years. Here in the United States I have taken care of different kinds of patients especially the geriatric population and those with Alzheimer's disease as a professional certified by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. I am very reliable, dependable and both a team player and team leader. I do my job with integrity and honesty. Moreover, I take the job personal in that I view the patient as if he/she was my father/grandfather, mother/grandmother, uncle/aunty.

Empathy...I am able to cultivate closer bond by sharing happiness or the sadness of the senior I care for.I just graduated nursing school, I am a registered nurse waiting to take the board exams. Patient..I am very patient and I allow the senior am taking care of to move at their own pace and not make them feel rushed.. Dependable and honest... i work with great deal of independence...I'm always on time and prepared to perform required duties in the absence of continuous supervision. Compassionate...I possess a powerful desire to help others especially seniors ...they are inviting and available even if all they do is listen and provide companionship.
