About Delilah

Some of the important personality traits that I possess include patience, compassion, attentiveness, dependability, and trustworthiness. Patience is important because it allows you to understand that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, or there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving the care. Compassion is important because it is important to maintain an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness is vital, because it allows you to understand emotional or physical changes in the person you're caring for. It is also crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person they're caring for. Lastly, due to the fact that those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically, it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. My everlasting altruism is what led me to becoming a caregiver. I love to help people in any way I can, as it is very rewarding for me. My social degree in electronics, as well as my impending certification for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) are the personal achievements that I am most proud of.

CNA

Jul 2012 - Present
Memorial Hermann Hospital
A certified nursing assistant's (CNA) main role is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal nature of the job, a certified nursing assistant job description must include people skills and the ability to be compassionate and enjoy helping others. In nursing or long-term care facilities, a CNA is often a patient's main caregiver. CNAs also work with medical technology, like billing software, health information software and medical record charting software. In some facilities, a CNA will administer medication to patients, but this usually depends on the CNAs level of training and experience, as well as state regulations. CNAs report to either registered nurses or licensed practical or licensed vocational nurses. They should have phenomenal communication skills since it's their job to bring all patient concerns and issues to their supervisor.
