I'm a very upfront outgoing person. I've been a Certified Nurse Assistant since I was 18 yrs old. I was helping my Mom out with my Dad during his battle with lung cancer. I enjoyed giving my Dad one on one care. I cared for him while my Mother was at work. Allowing him to be comfortable in his own home. After he passed I went on to take the CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy class at Kilgore College. I enjoyed mostly the one on one time spent with my patients. Getting to know them. I've worked in Long term care facilities. Prisons, Home healths, Assisted living homes. I mostly enjoy going into the homes as a Companion. Just giving somebody the option of staying home. Helping them with all daily living routines. Allowing them to still stay active. Giving them respect, dignity. Also giving them all my attention.
I have trained and worked as a CNA for over 25 years, which includes hospice. My experience far out way my training because of my desire to continually expand my skills and training, which adds to my services rendered to clients. There is no illness or disease I have not worked with. I will be a welcome asset to any client who acquire my services.
Hello! My name is Alicia. I am 30 years old with a wonderful family. I have been doing caregiving since I was 15 years old. I used to help take care of my grandparents and help them with baths. Being a caregiver is something that I am very compassionate about and I enjoy and absolutely love doing. I love the feeling of being able to help others.
What make me be a great caregiver is the compassion and love that I have for people. What attracted me to being a caregiver was when I worked in the laundry at a nursing home and when I would take the residents their clothes and their call light would be on waiting for someone to help them, but no one would come, I would try and help them. That's when I decided to go get my CNA license. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is listening to my client talk about the good old days and their family and watch their eyes light up and see the smile on their face. The most personal achievement that I'm proud of as a provider is knowing that I was able to give a family member love one the proper care and love that they so deserve.
I have been caring for people for what seems like all my life. Since 11 years old I hehelped take care of my cousin that has arthritis and then again worked for her when we were older. I am sensitive to others needs whether it be physically or emotionally. On a professional level I have 6 years of Home Health and just got certified a Nurse Aide. I have worked for a nursing home in Longview for one year. I love the work I do.
I am originally from New York and am of Italian descent. I am married to a retired U. S. Navy man and therefore have some basic knowledge and appreciation of the military. I have been in the healthcare field for the last 21 years and switched over to Home Health in 2005. I really enjoy helping people with their health needs, especially those who cannot do for themselves, such as the disabled or elderly. Most of my patients have been the elderly suffering from dementia or Alzheimers. However, I have also cared for a couple of centenarians who simply needed companionship and occasional errands done for them. I am a very friendly and outgoing person who is also very neat and clean.
I have an outgoing personality. I smile a lot and like to get others to smile back. I like to talk to patients, get them to tell stories of happy times. I am attentive to a patients needs. I am patient, physically fit and can stay awake as long as needed. I have determination and a don't quit attitude. Two years ago for my 50th Birthday, I hiked 1100 miles on the Appalachian Trail.
What makes me a great caregiver is because this is my God given Gift to care for His love ones. We each have a Gift that God has given us before we were born, and mines is to be able to care for the Elderly. At the end of the day, I get to go home knowing that I was given an opportunity, and the challenge and the blessing of being able to care for the Elderly. I think that's why I was put on this earth, and I think its' my calling like I said earlier in this statement. This is my purpose in life, and I am fulfilled by doing so. Below is a prayer I wrote. Our father, as I enter into the Homes of your love ones, I bring your presence with me. I speak your Peace, your Grace, your Mercy and your Perfect Order as I, the caregiver do your will. I acknowledge your power over all that will be spoken, though, decided, and done within these walls. Lord, I thank you for the Gifts that you have blessed me with. I commit to using them responsibly in your Honor. Give me a fresh supply of strength to do your will. Anoint my projects, and ideas, so that even my smallest accomplishment may bring you Glory. Our Heavenly Father, when I as your Servant am confused; guide, and lead me. When I am burned out, infuse me with the Light of the Holy Spirit. May the work that I do, and the way that I do it, bring Faith, Joy, and a Smile to all of your love ones that I come in contact with each and every day. Thank you Heavenly Father for given me, the Caregiver an opportunity, and the challenge, and the Blessings of being able to care for, and to help your love ones, the ELDERLY. In Jesus name, I pray, AMEN So you see, this is who I am, and my Character, and who God created me to be! Thank you!
