I became a caregiver because I wanted to do something that helped people. I was working an office job that I hated and felt desperately pointless, but since I became a caregiver I've found I'm a happier person. I sleep better at night knowing I made someones day just a little bit easier.
I enjoy talking to seniors and have a clear voice that is easy to hear. I have no problem talking loud if someone is hard of hearing. I grew up helping some elderly ladies in my church and my grandma. I would mow lawn, clean, take them shopping, and provide much needed visiting and companionship. I would also drive my Grandma to her multiple knee surgeries (7 to be exact), and help care for her post-surgery. My grandma is the one who taught me to be thorough in my cleaning and do work to be proud of. She now has Alzheimer's and doesn't know who I am, but I still enjoy having one sided conversations with her about the good old days. I was an EMT for several years with our local ambulance, so I'm calm in emergencies also. I have a Compassionate heart, love people, and like to laugh.
I'm very outgoing, dependable, patient and easy to get along person. From a young age I learnt how to take of the elderly since my grandmother lived with us. The interest I developed then has always been dear to me and that's why at the of 45yrs, half of yrs I've worked as a caregiver(CNA). With 2 boys doing well in school I'm a very proud mom.

I am a great caregiver because I love caring for people that are in need of assistance. I was born to be a caregiver, my 1st Christmas present I can remember was a child's medical bag. I was the caregiver for everyone in my home at an early age. What I like about being a caregiver is being there to make the sick feel better and have them look forward to a lovely day. I am very proud of being in the healthcare profession for the past forty-two year, and still loving what I do, after all these years.
