Hello there, Kayla here! For starters, to give you insight into a little bit about myself: I am a 19 year old female who is currently pursuing a career in English at Texas State! As a humanitarian at heart with a deep faith, I have an overflowing love for people and genuinely feel fulfilled when I help others. Upon volunteering at the nursing home, being a camp counselor, babysitting, and volunteering at my local animal shelter, I believe that one of my main purposes in life is to be of service to those in need. I have discovered through my journey so far that one of the ideal ways to show those around me that I genuinely care, is to give the sacrifice of my time and truly listen and be there as a burden-bearer. Most people just want to know that they are being heard and what they have saying is worth having an open ear to; they just want to know that they are important and loved. As an individual with a perfectionist, over-achieving attitude, I am willing to give my all at whatever task that I am presented with. This is demonstrated through my first ranking in high school and my first two semesters of college on the Dean's List so far!
