I currently work for Gregory-Portland ISD. I am a SPED aide at T.M. Clark Elementary. Prior to this I worked as a Life Skills aide at Rockport Fulton Middle School. I also worked 3 years as a service provider for a non-verbal, autistic, teenage boy. I did that for close to 3 years. I absolutely loved those years as a provider. I had worked in the school setting for a good while, but decided to pursue my passion outside of the classroom. It was so much fun! During that time as a provider I took that teenage boy out into the community to experience all the fun things we could possibly get ourselves into! We went to parks, malls, the aquarium, swimming, the library, grocery stores, etc. In addition to all the fun things we did, we also did community based instruction. I really found satisfaction in the deeper connection I was able to make. I would like to be able to experience this again! Although I work for the school district, summer is coming up soon and I'd love to offer my services to anyone who could use summer, and/or weekend help! Thank you for the opportunity!!
