I have spent the last 3 years being an aide for a severely disabled woman with several disabilities and have enjoyed every second of it! My duties included g-tube feeding, medication distribution, diaper changes,bathing, clothing, daily hygiene, seizure attendance, repositioning, transferring, doctor appointments, companion care, massages, laundry, dishes, meal prep, etc. I am currently helping the family transition her into a long term care home, as it is getting to be too much for the family to have her living in the home with full time aides.

I got the privilege to care for a legally blind geriatric man, who quickly became a part of my family, even my kids refer to him as Poppa. My duties included, but are not limited to, meal prep, assisted feeding, bathing, general hygiene, medication management, scheduling and taking him to appointments, shopping, housekeeping, ambulatory assistance, incontinence care, breathing treatments, companion care, hospital stays, helping with memory issues and much more.

Collaborated extensively with the interdisciplinary care team to meet the nutritional needs of each resident. Reviewed records and assessed the nutritional condition of at-risk residents. Prepared nutritional meals and snacks to residents.

Responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children that complies with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Nurtures children, provides meals, crafts, and instruction, and ensures students are clean and kept safe. Primary responsibilities Develop a program for young children within the preschool. Provide nutritious snacks and lunches. Talk with parents about behavioral ups and downs. Develop activities to stimulate the children. Establish policies and procedures for inside and outside the classroom. Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol. Clean and sterilize equipment and toys daily. Provide weekly schedules for children and parents. Ensure cupboards are locked and cleaning supplies out of reach. Supervise children at all times. Integrate special needs children in a respectful manner. Create arts and crafts for children. Comfort children in times of need. Encourage children with expressions and hugs. Discuss development with parents. Identify problems and convene with professionals if necessary. Participate in fundraising for the school. Promote literacy and early education.
