I have always been a form of caregiver. I worked in childcare starting volunteering in a daycare center at fourteen. I worked in childcare until becoming a mother myself. I became passionate about being a home healthcare provider when the need came for my great grandparents. I had visited nursing homes and wasn't pleased with the the level of compassion or interaction with the residents. I decided then I would care for my great-grandfather. I wanted him in the comfort of his home. Although there was speculation by others of weather he was mentally competent enough for he himself to know the deference of being at home or not. I knew somewhere down he did and the comfort of his home is where I was and did take care of him until he passed.
