I became a caregiver because my grandmother had a stroke and I would visit her at the Rehab hospital to help my mom take care of her. Everyday I went, her room-mate needed help or would enjoy our company because she didn't have family who came to see her much. So I started volunteering in the Activities Dept. to help mingle with the other patients and give them some company and someone to talk to if needed. I love being a Caregiver because I love to help people in need and I am a caring person. My greatest achievement was when I graduated from the Nursing Assistant program and when I became state certified. I am 45 years old with 3 children and 4 grandchildren who I love so much. I am currently taking classes at Thomas Nelson Community College so I can get into the Nursing Program
