Hello I am a 42-year-old mother of 4. I have worn many hats over the years. I have been a drive-thru girl at McDonald's, a waitress, a teacher's aide. I've served ice cream at Stewart's, been a deli-clerk, a pharmacy tech and a cashier. Most recently I am a private home health aide. My client recently passed away. I did everything from bathe him, assisted him with personal hygiene as well as feeding him and administering medication. I took him to his doctor appointments and sat with him while he reminisced about the past. I did light housework as well as cooked meals for him.
I have been working with people for most of my adult life. I have owned and operated my own preschool for 15 years. I have lived in Vermont for the past 11 years and I have worked in retail for most of those years. I have recently took a private care job with an elderly lady who is very capable of taking care of herself, I assist her with emails, grocery shopping, as well as driving her to and from appointments, etc. She is a delightful woman and I enjoy working with her so much. I have taken an interest in this field and would like to pursue further opportunities in working in this field. I am a very active person and I enjoy the outdoors very much, on my free time I am often outdoors either walking, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, and taking many different fitness classes at the local spa in town. I went back to college as an adult 5 years ago and received my bachelors degree which I am very proud of that accomplishment, as it was not an easy task working and going to school, however I really enjoyed it, and met many people and found my classes very interesting. I hope to continue taking courses over the next few years as I continue to pursue other side interests such as cooking, and photography.

I have been an at home mom for the last 25 years and now that my children have moved onto their own lives I am looking forward to using all the experiences, skills and passion I posses to help others. My husband was an airline pilot and I was able to stay home, manage the house, attend to our two children and assist other family members. Prior to starting a family In 1996 I was a full time Administrative Assistant to the President of a personal security manufacturing company in Bennington, Vermont. The skills I had in office management, bookkeeping, typing, event organizing, negotiating, sales and marketing served me well in the years to come in managing a home and business. I am highly organized, compassionate, hard working, self motivated, trustworthy and dependable. My passion is helping others and the joy I receive back is something that is very hard to put into words and explain. It truly is a gift. I posses a range of contrasting skills and abilities because of my desire to learn and adapt to new situations and tasks at hand.
I became a care giver when I was very young. I was blessed to have and know my great grandparents and grandparents. so as a little girl I began to take care of them because I loved them and because it came very natural to me. I loved the feeling of helping people and making them feel better and knowing that I made a difference. Just to know I helped them to be comfortable whether it was changing a bandage helping with medication making sure they got to a doctors appointment bathing them helping them with their p.a. just talking with them mostly listening (my fav) It never bothered me to sit with someone in their final days I knew they knew they were not alone. I have to say that doing these things are my personal achievements that I have done and want to continue to do. I have a huge heart and a tender touch and a lot of common sense . I'm funny and outgoing and love to bring my personal touch to ones life. I hope to continue to do my best and bring smiles and make everyone I take care of feel safe and secure. I'm a good communicator. I believe that being so makes things so much easier and helpful in everyway. I'm always open to change and to do better. I hope one day to be a recipient of what I have given to others.

I became a caregiver because it is something I have always enjoyed. I have had an opportunity to work with all various ages and background and happy to say that I have learned a lot and still learning everyday. I like the relationship you build with the resident as well as just talking and getting to know their history, their story. I am proud to have receiving my certification. I am an ambitious goal driven strong minded lady who loves to work and get her feet wet in different specialty areas. Im currently in school to be getting my Medical Assistant certification/degree for next year April 2015. Then after I have goals to get my LPN which is a 10 month program. I eventually would like to be in a small doctors office or in a hospital setting to work with individuals.
