My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have many personal achievements that I'm proud of, but the one that touches my heart the most is that I allowed myself the gift of time and self-reflection to step into my life purpose, being of service in elder care, end of life care and other related areas that bring together all of my education, gifts and life experiences. i became a caregiver because i helped with my grandmother and i saw how important it is to have good care for the elderly.I like the feeling of helping and making people happy.I mesh well with most clients and form a strong bond.I've been a caregiver for 14 years and it feels like this is what I'm good at and am meant to be doing.

I have been doing in home senior care for 2+ years. With a local company. I care for my Mother on all post-op situations. I also give her support care weekly. I have just completed the AR CNA course testing out at: 100%+5 written, and 99% clinical. I will test with the state soon. I am out going.l, Self- motivated, and am a stickler for the rules and proceedires. I am most proud of my ability to connect with and advocate for residents/clients.

People tell me I'm very patient, and kind . I Ike to joke around and help the elderly because they're just like you and I, they have feelings and aspirations too. I beleive everyone should have an equal opportunity.

I have a passion for helping others. I have worked in the medical feild since 2005. I have a full time job now just looking for some extra spend cash. I have one daughter who is 13 and my pride and joy.

Caregiving is just in my nature. I moved from Colorado to Arkansas to care for my cousin who was in desperate need of care. I went to the Schmieding Center in Springdale for training, which is supposed to be the best school in the country at one point in time. That schooling made me much better at caring for the needs of others. I love to feel genuinely appreciated. Nothing gives me greater self-worth than knowing I'm helping someone who needs it. I'm always very happy when others notice and compliment me on the work I do!

I have worked extensively with patients, providing and documenting all personal care and rehabilitation services such as feeding, bathing, and mobility assistance. I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!

I think what makes me a good caregiver is the good comments from the family about myself and that is a complement about my job, I became a caregiver because is a job the have so much rewarding! I like to be a caregiver because you make good friends and treat your patient as they were part of your family, is little challenging at times!
