I started in the medical field right out of High School and I'm currently attending school to receive my Bachelors Degree in Health Care Management. I wanted to learn to be a caregiver so when my parents get old to take of my father. He has past 16 yrs now. I enjoy taking care of elderly I love there smiles.

I became a cna in 1997 and continued my desired position for 12 yrs ranging from convalescent homes to Lindsay and Sierra hospitals then my last employer was private in home that's where I realized I was my happiest, the friendship and bond you create is so much more then just helping someone out and going on your way, I bonded and made a friend along the way which was good for all parties involved. I have been a stay at home mom and wife for the past 2-3 yrs now since I lost my friend due to the battle but I am eager to help another in need and possibly make a new friend.

I am very friendly, truthful, honest, and caring . I like to help the individual stay active so they do not lose the ability to do for themselves. I have worked in the medical field for many years. I have handled many different scenarios and situations so nothing surprises me to much. I am not judge mental and I enjoy helping the individual to feel good about their day and what they have accomplished. Positivity and Smiles go along way. No one is perfect However, I strive to be the best person I can be everyday. A personal achievement of mine was when I worked with an individual who was non verbal and he had a lot of behaviors and he could be very mean. I spoke to him and treated him like he was the same as everyone else. I cooked a special dinner for him and made it all homemade from scratch and he watched me make the whole meal. When I served him he looked at me took a bite then reached over and grabbed my arm gently and kissed my arm and he smiled so big. It took about a month to get that acceptance from him. When he finally accepted me it made me tear up. I felt so accomplished because this guy ran off so many Direct support Professionals. I felt as though I could do anything because of the wonderful feeling of gratitude and gratefulness that I received from that individual.

I like to help people when givin the opportunity. I enjoy being a caregiver because I get to help them achieve their goals and become a better person everyday.

I am very forth right, I take pride in giving hope and making tomorrow a brighter day for my clients. No job is to big or overwhelming for me to tackle. I am very protective and very loving. I am fast and efficient in emergency situations, I do not freeze or panic in my clients time of needs. I enjoy taking my clients out for activities and trips( no one can excel staying in a chair all day) Dr appointments, grocery shopping, puzzles, crafts and activities keep the mind sharp and on point. That's what I strive for[?] Whatever is important to my client becomes important to me and I will remember all of those dates and address them accordingly.. No house work is too much for me.. if they have a project they would like to do we will get it done one way or the other.. cooking is not a problem. Also am very familiar with thickened liquids and Pureed meals. Whatever they may need I am at their disposal.

Working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion caregivers will let the person they are caring for know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help them. Must be more patient and understanding,reliable and trustworthy and must be flexible. It helps to sometimes put yourself in the otYou feel that when you are older, you'd want someone like yourself there to help you if you need help. Caregiving attracts me because I put myself in the person's shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help, and make a difference in someone's life. Taking care of sick people that needs my help gives me joy to my heart, and most of The time it makes me feel special knowing I put a smile on there face One achievement that I am proud of is that I've always been so friendly, very positive, very energetic and always in a great mood, and I always put a smile one there face when they feel comfortable around my positive attitude..

I feel like caregiving was something I was born to do. I enjoy getting to know new people and help them with the tasks they need help with. I find satisfaction in caregiving because it feels great knowing I'm helping someone take care of there loved one. I was raised by a family member that was a CNA and she taught me to be loving and caring to others. I have worked with Individuals that display outburst behavior. I have been working with individuals that are mentally disabled for 3 years and that has taught me to be patient and kind. Being able to help families that need help really makes me feel like I'm doing a job that is really important and makes me want to always do the best job I can do for others and there loved ones.
