Hi, I am a mother, grandmother, and I love to care for my family. I started caregiving first for my grandparents. I fell in love with taking care of the ones who can't care for themselves or maybe just need a little help and a lot of companionship.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I love all the elderly like my own. I like taking care of my grandparents and I love hearing all there stories from the past and I love spending time with the elderly. An achievement I'm proud of is when I caught one my patients before they fell and got hurt really back

I became a Cna at 17 years old when my Great Grandmother decided she would not stay home with us, not wanting to burden family. I decided that one of us needed to go to her then and went to Job Corp got my Ged and Cna before my Highschool class graduated. I then took my first job at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa . I believe in giving my clients and their families the best of me as I see the big picture and know how hard caring at home can be. In 1998 my grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's We kept him home as long as we could and then I went to work at Country View where he was first placed due to memory problems. He ended up back home ! We cared for him until he suffered a fall ( very common in Parkinson's ) at that time Caring for the elderly in a loving, respectful and life enriching way no matter the illness/ ability is my goal! I want my clients to have the best day each day they spend with me and I have an amazing portfolio showcasing my light work and great family references! I am capable of all aspects of homecare! I have 20 plus years experience. I am loyal and dependable, I have a glowing, upbeat personality! Great references and letters of recommendations! I am a very trustworthy and organized person ! You will not regret letting me assist you in keeping your loved one at home! I am also a cosmetology grad, graduated at the top and love bringing my hair, skin and nailcare experience into the homes of my clients at no extra charge!! I am amazing with memory care patients! I am a professional caregiver with experience in several areas in the medical field from nursing homes to dialysis clinics. I took care of two ill family members that are no longer with us, I enjoy helping others it makes me feel good to know that I have made someone's day better I am a caring compassionate person that understands the different disabilities of others and the feeling of families having to have a stranger take care of their loved ones, that is why I go above and beyond to take care of my residents. FYI I'm allergic to cats so no kitty's please!!

I became a Care-Giver because my parents raised me to always respect my elders, and I know that they have amazing stories and plenty of wisdom to share. My job as a Care-Giver is truly the most rewarding job I've ever had, so I would like to continue working in this field as a career!

At work my patients called me "Sunshine". I always have a smile on my face. I enjoy helping people. It's what I've always done. I am the oldest of five sisters and we grew up in an unstable home. I grew up quickly and started taking care of my sisters when I was 9. I'm still helping them. Anyone who knows me, knows that they can depend on me and that I'm trustworthy. I am always helping someone by taking them shopping, taking them to doctors appointments, taking them to pick up prescriptions, or just sitting and visiting because they are lonely. I love to help people accomplish things that they need to get done but can't because they can't drive (due to seizures etc...) or because they need advice or companionship.

My greatest skills in health care are making the resident/ patient feel comfortable caring for them. Trust, and caring, and sometimes you have to take period listen to each individual. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was my grandmother. My family is very close and when my grandmother the glue to our family were Diagnosed with ALZHEIMER'S we all worked together. It when from one thing to another. After her transition I decided to work in health care. I enjoy caring for people. Whatever I can find my hands to do, I do it. With dignity love and respect. While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.

To be honest I didn't have really experience about professional caregiver. But I took care of my Grandparents in the Philippines. I love talking to the elders, I learn so much from them about life. I took care of my in-laws Mother who will be 95 this year. And I love her to death. I don't get anything from it. But they are family and I do it because I love her. And now I moved to Florida and looking for a job to provide for my 2 Girls.
