I became a caregiver so that I could be able to take care of my mother, I like the one on one care that way I can take better care of the clients. My sisters and I took care of my mother for 14 years. I know she 's was getting the best care at home instead of being in a nursing home. I thank God she lived to be 92 years old. Hello, I'm Raphaela I've been in and out of the caregiving field roughly around 4/5 years. Growing up I've had several family members that have worked in assistance homes or nursing homes. Since a child I've always volunteered to help out at nursing homes. Wether it was bedside assistance or helping with activities and making sure they went to bed with a smile on their face. I'm currently in my senior year of college, majoring in biology. I have future plans of becoming a CNA and even more to be sure that I'll be able to continue to care and assist with the elderly. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to learn, connect and love on my clients. I still have connections with previous clients from years ago! Being that I'm such a loving and caring CG/PCA, I tend to connect with my patients as if I'm one of their own. I also have experience in the pharmacy, I was a pharmacy technician with Walgreens back in 2021-2022. My expertise is being a caregiver. I love helping and taking care of people! I started working in a nursing facility then I decided that I wanted to do home health. I love to be able to help someone to stay at their place of residency rather than them having to leave their familiar environment.

I have always told others that I not medically inclined until almost three years ago my now 5 year old grand son almost drowned in our pool. Man had given upon him surviving. His parents were told that they would be provided with medically assisted suicide. To this day I have been thankful they did not go that route. I learned how to perform trachea change, g-tube feeding and administer medications via his G-tube, comfort him, I have talked many through and even out of major depression. I cared for my parents and grandmother who was a diabetic and those who had high blood pressure just to mention a few. I realized during these transitions that being a caregiver is such a critical player in a time of need because many family members are unable to stop their day to day lives and provide that much needed attention for their live ones.
