143 caregivers with Vision and Eye Disorders experience found near Huntley
Vision and eye disorders among the elderly usually result from progressive retinal degeneration, increased pressure in the eye, or the formation of protein clumps. The most prevalent vision disorders found in older adults are glaucoma, cataracts, presbyopia, conjunctivitis, and corneal disease. Symptoms that signal eye problems include dryness, poor eyesight, farsightedness, nearsightedness, blurred or double vision, seeing halos surrounding lights, pain, swelling or burning, and heavy eye discharge. Those caring for individuals with vision problems will need to assist with everyday tasks, medication administration, transportation, and other activities that require reading or normal vision. To alleviate the symptoms of eye problems, caregivers can also help individuals with contact lenses, glasses, LASIK surgery recovery, eyedrops, and sunglasses use.

I am a compassionate, skilled worker who can work long hours and accomplish several tasks at once. I was brought on into caregiving because of my brother John, who is quadriplegic, and a handful when he knew I would be around. I learned a lot through specific classes, yet also a lot just by him instructing me. I enjoy my work because it is a passion of mine to give great service to those who cant, but also I've seen what bad or mediocre service can do in the long run. A personal achievement of mine, that I am proud of, was spending a year and 6 months in Biloxi, MS helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
I became a caregiver because I wanted to help the elderly achieve the highest standard of living for their age so that they could live with ease and as independently as possible. I am compassionate, kind, understanding, and patient which help me be a great caregiver. I am friendly and approachable which makes me a great companion. I am also an active listener to ensure that I meet of my patients' needs and go beyond their expectations.
Patience, high tolerance, socially ,communicable and passionate .
I love taking care of people, children and the elderly.
Companionship, smile on their face.
Helping client to do the things they couldn't do
hello to whom may be reading this, I'm Ashley I'm a CNA been one since 2009. I love helping and taking care of people, its just a part of me. I have e been finger printed and am on the IDPH registery.
What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I have a big heart. I am willing to help others and care for them. Not only am I doing my job, but I create a bond with my clients, it is more than just a job. Being there to comfort them and hands-on when needed. What attracted me to being a caregiver is growing up I watched my grandfather need the help. I enjoyed being there for him to the point where he felt comfortable enough to be in the state he was in. The most exciting part of being a caregiver is creating that bond with my clients to the point where they want me to come back. It is not always about being there for just the job and them needing help , I like being open to them and more like a friend then an employee. I am proud of helping others. I know that with my ability to be there for others good things will come upon me.
Being able to empathize allows me to put myself in the patient's shoes, and identify and ease the patient's fears or discomfort.
Patience and flexibility. There'll be many hurdles along the way-the patient is being stubborn and uncooperative, the schedule doesn't go as planned, or difficult situations arise. I will find a way to deal with this in a positive way.
Having a good sense of humor. Is a good indicator that I would be able to tolerate and deal with difficult situations, which is essential because caregiving involves conditions that more people would find hard or challenging.
I am very patient and gentle,I always adapt to new situation and condition. I am not a perfect being but I love to learn and I accept corrections .
I am humble, respectful and trustworthy. I have been a caregiver for 3years now and still counting it has been interesting for me doing this job and I feel amazingly joyful helping seniors.
I enjoy the fact that most seniors I have worked for have never given a bad report about me and the smile and comfort they show when I work with them.
I am a mother of three and my primary job has been a homemaker for 18 years. My oldest headed off to college this year, my daughter to high school and my middle child is in a special needs High School. My son was born with disabilities that include emotional, cognitive and behavioral delays. Being a homemaker has increased my love of caring for others. I find solace in even the most mundane household tasks, especially organizing & cooking. I took the role as caregiver for my grandmother in her last year of life. I felt it was the least I could do to show how grateful I was for the time she gave me in helping raise my sisters and I. My true passion is spending time with others, learning about their interests, how their day is or simply helping to resolve a conflict. My husband and I recently took in our niece to help her return to high school after she dropped out as a result of substance abuse. Caring for her, showing her compassion and the structure she yearned for is helping her navigate into a more confident adult life. I find that as my children have aged I am no longer needed to assist during the days and would like to spend that time caring for others.
