Over the years I lost all four of my grandparents to cancer. I became a caregiver because I want to help people that are going through the same obstacles they once were. Helping people is my passion. The best feeling in the world is making a slight difference in one's life, making someone smile is everything. When I take care of my resident's and I recieve a smile it makes me feel like I've done a wonderful job. What attracted me to caregiving is going to the nursing home everyday and seeing my grandfathers nurses and aides come in, they always had a smile on their face and it gave him one too. The things they did for him were amazing and I wanted to do the same for someone else's grandparents.

As a Candystriper many years ago, I gravitated toward the elderly. As a nursing student (I didn't not complete), I found that it was the elderly that needed that one-on-one, extra time spent, relationship. While in college, I provided home care/companion care, and have on and off for the past 35+ years. I've had a myriad of clients with different concerns and at various stages of health. I spent two days w/my father-in-law while he was in hospice, and was present at his passing, calling TOD. I enjoy doing for others, providing them w/care and companionship while allowing family members to take a much-needed break. An "achievement" that I'm most proud of is giving a client back some semblance of pride. Though she suffered from dementia, she could still communicate and read. Her abject fear was to be alone and trapped. I made a sign that was at the foot of her bed that reminded her that she was never alone and that someone was always there. The sign had velcro dots, and each caregiver had a small sign w/their name on it that could be affixed for their shift. She was able to call us by name when she became panicked, fearing that she was alone (even though someone was always in the next room). When she sat at the dining room table eating her meal and because she didn't have the strength to push herself away from the table, she would fret that she was trapped and couldn't relax enough to enjoy her meal. I made a little tent card that had a picture of a dining table and chair, and it said "you have the power to move back from the table because we will help you". Both signs made a huge difference in her life...something so simple, yet so powerful.

I am kind caring and enjoy helping people every day. I am flexible and always on time.

I am a very caring and lovable person. I enjoy helping others the best that i possibly can. When i was younger I use to go to work with my step mom who was a CNA and i enjoyed being able to make a diffrrence in the residents lifes. The thing I enjoy the most about being a caregiver, is that i actually get to take time out of my day to meet new people and put a smile on others faces. I am most proud of the fact that i get to wake up knowing I am being the best mom I can be and also being the vest CNA that I Can be.

I'm a very motivated, kind and caring person who just wants to help those in need. I love being able to be companion to someone to needs one. I have 2 kids. I just lost my very first client. She was 100. She was my everything. I was with her for 22 months.

Ever since I could remember I enjoy talking to the elderly as I was younger all my neighbors were elderly and I would go over and visit with them and see if they need help with anything and just be there for them so they weren't lonely I have a lot of experience in the field straight out of high school I was certified as a home health aide I worked there for a couple years and decided to move up and went to a nursing home and got my CNA what side decided to have children I was a stay at home mom for a while and during that time my grandmother with all Psimer's and dementia and diabetes lived with me for 2 1/2 years I was her primary care giver My personal achievements would be feeling great about myself that I can really help people in need and help elderly not feel their days are so long with companionship and in all the times I've worked in this field I have never had and you want to get hurt Or fall

I love working with elderly people, I treat your love one as if they were my own family, I am very responsible, respectful and dependable and I will go thy extra mile to make sure your loved one is taken care for.

i am 36 i been care giving since i was 25 well actually all my life my mom died at age 3 and i was the only girl so i help take care of the boys i got a older brother who has learning disabilities who i help care for and in return i learned to have passion for the care for others its my heart and soul i love to serve others it makes me feel rewarded a since of fulfillment i guess. i am selfless as to where i always think of others and put them before myself as for this just job i feel its so good for me do to the great amount of empathy i have towards others.i have never been late and always worked when asked even if its a double i love honest that works both ways. i do however get attached easily and start to love my clients like family and i am very open with them and share everything this is good and bad because at that point i am not separating work for personal life but with this kind of work its hard. i did go to school to become a medical assistant and did graduate top of my class and with a perfect attendance but i really like one on ones not to much into the doctors offices.

I truly enjoy being around the elderly I grew up with my grandma living with me with Alzheimer's as a child and I always wanted to help in anyway I could. Taking care of people is truly something from your heart. I like to help make a difference in their life to reassure them everything will be ok.

I am self driven self motivated, strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. I find caring for others very satisfying and fulfilling. I have a reputation for excellence and high quality service for my residents and family members. Highly creative and innovated; willing to learn skills and techniques. My favorite part of being a care giver is helping the people feel safe secure and cared for, and allowing the families to find peace and happiness knowing I can take some of the responsibility off their shoulders. I am most proud of the diverse levels of care I have learned from companionship to hospice care.
