Majority of the time that she was sick I cared for her. I always knew I needed to get into the health field because I saw how important it is to have a support system. When you have someone in your family who can no longer take care of themselves it seems to have a ripple effect with everyone surrounding them. At some point we could no longer take care of my grandmother in the house so we had to hire a home health aide and in doing so I really grew to appreciate the nature of the job.
