I am a great caregiver because I actually wanted to become a nurse because I was raised by my grandmother and I watched her be a caregiver to her parents and kids and also raise me as a daughter and I am her granddaughter. My great grandmother had multiple sclerosis when I was growing up as a young child and she lived next door to us. I used to go help my grandma take care of her till she got bedridden and passed. Both of my grandfathers also had Alzheimer's, dementia and Parkinson's I was also a full-time caregiver to one of them as a young adult. What I enjoy most about being a nurse and a caregiver is companionship. Everyone needs somebody especially the elderly it's very lonely when you get older and I love being a nurse/ caregiver to have my client feel that Most beautiful experience of Someone that actually cares.

I am 54 years old. God gave me a gift to help elders, and I love that gift! I have been doing this all my life. I can't express enough how it makes me feel to go home knowing I made them smile, or laugh for that day. I think exercise is very important if they are capable, and Companionship, Honesty, and just having a heart that cares for people. I go above and beyond for my elders, and I will treat them as they were my very own.

I wanted to teach preschool, thats what I was taking classes for in school, but life had other plans, and so I started an in-home childcare business instead and I did that for over 20 years. Ive been a delivery driver for the last few years and last year I started working for Papa Pals as an in-home care companion. Ive always loved elderly people, and a few of my regulars from up north(in IL/WI- where I moved from) became kinda surrogate grannys for me, since I lost mine in 2012 & havent been the same since.

I am 20 years old attending college to become a nurse, I enjoy talking and doing activities with my patient , my biggest achievement was be able to take care of 6/7 people in one day even though it was not easy.

I worked with the Visiting Angels Caregiver & Home health group out of Knoxville, Tn for about 2 years as a caregiver. I also helped to care for my mother, father, a sister, a brother, an aunt, an uncle, my husband, and my son. I am retired, but I still enjoy working part time as a caregiver.
