One of my favorite experiences being a caregiver are the families that I meet and become close with. They become family to me too. I took care of my husband who passed after 19 years of cancer, my grandparents , who both suffered from Alzheimer's. Spent numerous years working in a rest home & for private clients in their home. Here I've learned many skills for many areas where disease affects family. If you choose me to be a part of your care team I'm confident I can complete any task asked of me. I am a very upbeat care-giver who enjoys brightening up the the day or others. I am very loving and passionate about my job as a CNA. I come from a long line of nurses. I remember going to nursing homes with my Mom as a child and singing to her patients. My Mother was a nurse and my Dad was a paramedic as well as several other family members. I love working with patients for a long duration of time so that we get an opportunity to bond together and it helps build up trust and rapor between nurse and patient. My name is Takeshia Hodge and I am 27 years old I'm currently a certified medication aide as well as a community supervisor. I am currently in the process of going back to college to be a RN. My passion is to help others that aren't able to help themselves. My passion is pleasing people!

What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the fact I get to make someone else life more easier,and also letting them know I'm there for them.

I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. Growing up I always enjoyed my grandmother recalling the life experiences that made her the type of person she was. I take pride in being a unique individual and not being just like everyone else. I am not just a member of a collective.

I LOVE WORKING AS A CAREGIVER I LOVE THE INDIVIDUALS I SERVE. I DO THE BEST POSSIBLE TO HELP THE INDIVIDUALS GET BETTER ON WHAT GOING ON. I LOOK FOR PROGRESS IN ALL MY INDIVIDUALS THAT I WORK WITH . SO WHAT EVER NEED THE INDIVIDUALS NEED IM HERE TO PUSH FARTHER TO MAKING IT HAPPEN. WITH NO PROBLEM. I ENJOY THE MOST OF ABLE TO WORK AND GET THE JOB DONE NOTHING ATTRACTED ME WHEN IM AT WORK.

Well what I will enjoy about working as a caregiver is getting to know the person and learning how to assist with with everyday tasks Also being there to listen and giving them time for conversation and social needs.

I believe in taking proper care of the elderly since my grandmother took the time to raise me this is my way of returning the favor. I've been her right hand woman for many years and my responsibilities evolved from home assistance to recreational activity companion after I got my DL. After my time in the military I decided that I wanted to dedicate myself to helping others get the most out of life and I hope I can help you as well.
