I then moved to Houston to care for my Mother in law who was diagnosed with stomach cancer i also provided total care for her on hospice.. Being a caregiver actually fills a part of my life i don't have any more my grand mother.. I really enjoy my job as a caregiver.. I've been a caregiver for more than 30 years. I care about people and I feel like God has given me a gift. I love to talk so I pretty much can get a patient to try must things that a family member can't get them to to to. I love to read and interact with them if it's just a game cards.

When working I treat my clients with love make them feel like if I was one of there family members. Treat with respect being a caregiver makes me happy I love seeing them smile just to treat them how I would want some body to treat my love ones. making them smile

First and foremost you must understand this is just not any job. This is someone's family member. I very much enjoy working with older people they still have much to offer the younger generation. My first visit was with an neighbour. She would let me take out her trash weekly from then on it progressed. Since then I have been in and out the field for 20 years. Became a Medical Assistant was not the same no one on one personal care so I did not stay in the field. Giving the best part of me to my clients.

What makes me a great caregiver is I enjoy helping others to achieve to be more positive about themselves and be there for them by cooking , housekeeping, taking them to store, pharmacy , Dr appointments . I enjoy meeting new people & making new friends.

I am an outgoing mom that loves to cook. I have spent most of my life caring for others, my mom cared for my grandparents and I loved to go help and started staying and caring for them at the age of 13. I would help with light household duty's and cooking as they could not stand long to do it. I started helping care for my brother at 14 when he broke his neck in a car accident and became an incomplete quad. I got certified as a nurses aide when I was 17 and started working in nursing homes and caring for in home patients. I love to talk and learn from their experiences and get to know all kind of different people. I stepped back from the workforce when my first daughter was born and miss it dearly and am ready to return to helping others in need.

Becoming a caregiver give me a useful purpose helping someone that need me to be giving careing and loving toward them let them know that you care and it not just a job be happy friendly.

What makes me a great caregiver is I do the most important thing, I CARE. Always have always will, ever since I was a child this is what I've wanted to do, I've got such a caring outgoing personality that it's just what I love. I also do photography on the side as a hobby, blessing people and helping in every way possible is my goal.

As a caregiver i enjoy listening to the clients life story and trying to relate to things that they have experienced in the past. They pass on their wisedom and experience of life to us as caregiver. And being able to make your client feel like they are still important is just an amazing experience. To see them excited when you walk in always makes me smile.

I like to care for old people because when I get old I want to be take care iam a happy person I enjoy talking to old people and learn more
