I am a naturally caring person, who was raised by my grandparents, so I love and understand the elderly. I love hearing the stories of the past. I love getting to know the families and people involved in their lives. People are important and every person has value and a story to tell! I helped to take care of my grandmother as she was aging and I look back on that time w fond memories. Helping others stay in their home. Making someones life just a little bit easier can have great rewards. I took religion is college, of which I have 3 yrs. I have raised two children, and have been involved in my church over the years. I am now helping to raise two of my grandchildren which I adore! I am faithful and loyal, kind and gentle to others. I am honest and trustworthy.I love gardening, my grandchildren, and nature and all animals, especially cats and horses. In my younger years I was a CNA for about 10 years. Then helped my husband in the restaurant business for quite a few years, then went into janitorial at Hood River High Sch for awhile. I now have an additional 7 yrs (?) in caring for others. I love people! Now that I am a little older, I am enjoying taking care of the elderly and have a good understanding for what they need. I have been doing so for a number (10?) of years. I am a pretty easy going person to wk with.

In addition to the regular requirements of of a caregiver, I'm very hard working, I'm cheerful, compassionate and have extremely good creative skills in the arts and I would include cooking as an art. I like to go the extra mile and do little things that sometimes can make all the difference. For instance, putting towels in the dryer so they're nice and warm after a shower, or making sure that meals are served garnished and attractive. It's rewarding to help someone and cheer them up, see them smile ! I enjoy the variety and working with people one on one, and I enjoy working in their homes. I think the overall achievement of working with many people since 2012 is what I'm proud of. I do enjoy making them smile and laugh and taking them out of their troubles at least for a little while, while performing tasks in their home that need to be done. I do not do transfers .This means the person must be totally ambulatory. I cannot help them get up from a chair or get out of bed, nor can I reposition someone in bed. But, I do everything else. Available full time. except Friday afternoon. I can also do weekend, 24/7 shifts or long weeks 24/7.

I am an energetic, kind, and compassionate person who has dedicated the last 12 years to helping seniors age in place. Although my bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona is in Nursing/Biology, I pursued other career opportunities for much of my professional life. I returned to hands-on care 12 years ago because of the deep satisfaction I feel when I help a family honor their loved one's decision to remain at home, living as independently as possible. I am highly organized and I excel at coordinating all aspects of care, which enables family members to attend to their careers and commitments. I have experience as a Care Manager, hiring, training, and managing a caregiving team for a family that needed 24 hour care for their father.
