When my grandmother could no longer care for herself without assistance our family couldn't bring ourselves to place her in a home for the elderly. We are an extremely close family and my grandma and I were best friends. I made my home her home and cared for her for six years until she passed. Her care included me cooking for her, bathing and dressing her, helping with toileting needs, cleaning and laundry, I set her hair in rollers and styled her hair, read to her, played cards, or just held her hand, reminisced about the past and enjoyed our time together. For a few years I got her ready for the senior center bus. My approach to spending time with more seasoned adults is a treasured opportunity to learn about history and find out about their amazing life journey. Many are just looking for some respect and kindness, both of which I have an abundance of. I have 19 month old twins. They are curious, loving and amazingly not destructive! I'd like to bring them with me to add to the experience. When I Nanny they come and it has worked out brilliantly. Childrenn can bring joy and excitement to the lives of the Elderly. I look forward to hearing from you!
