Hello There, I'm Theresa, I'm 56 years old. I became a CNA to give quality health care to our elder comunity. They deserve no less, they have lived a lifetime of giving to their Families & communities, so to give love back to this generation is an honor; plus I just really love elderly and disabled people. Now that I've been in the field for 30 + years I've come to believe it's been more of a calling then a job, therefore the rewards & benifits have been profoundly satisfying. I'm proud that I've served our seniors for 30 + years. I've also had the opportunity to serve our children and Teachers as the head custodian at one of the Portland Public schools for 13 years, very rewarding. I am a skilled CNA; being delagated by RN's with experience in, Tracheotomies, Catheters, Wound care, Tube feeding, Proper lifting with or without hoyers. I'm a firm believer in living & dying with dignity. I have over 15 of my 30 years experience in Supervisory & management capacity. I'm a dedicated wife of 23 years to my Wonderful Husband Michael. I've even had the privilege of being the nurse that sent my Brother & Mother home to Heaven, with them being able to stay in their homes. (Always been very closeto family.) I treat others as I would like to be treated....Let me prove to u how unique my tender love & care for you or your Family member can be & should be. I am honest, trustworthy, dependable, conscientious, dedicated & professional. I am a cut above the rest, that's not said with pride, except in the Lord; for making me this way. My primary concern as a caregiver is to make sure that my client is able to function at the best of their ability and to make sure that they are having the highest quality of life that they are able to have. I am not only there for my client but I am also there for the family (such as: to let them go grocery shopping, are just to be another set of ears at doctor appointments or for the family. After a few days with the client and the family I begin to consider them family. I have a great amount of nurturing and empathy, some say I care to much but I give 150% to my clients and families. I enjoy order and dispensing medication, relating to my clients, enjoy the pass and working on family history. I have no parents or grandparents so my clients kind of fill these roles. I have been a first responder, EMT, CPR Instructor, nurse's aide, and medication aide. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is having a D.N.S. that I work with for a long time trust me to teach new nurse's the medication routine and to be a charge nurse. As a personal care giver the highest praise I can be given is for my client to tell me I must be an angel and that they love me.
