About Catherine

I came to caregiving via many years of Hospice work as a massage therapist. I have the capacity to be emotionally present, kind, and be a good listener. At the same time, I recognize the practical needs that come with needing assistance. So, I also have training as a Nurse Assistant Certified, specializing in home care. I no longer do heavy lifting but, I can work with those who are ambulatory or require stand-by assist. I hold the client's best interest first and foremost. I hope you will consider me. Homecare Provider and Manager for a gentleman with Parkinson's

Private Pay Client
Provided cooking, cleaning, medication reminders, stand-by assist with showers, transportation to entertainment events and medical appointments. When it became necessary to provide much more assistance, his family authorized me to hire more help to cover more hours. I was given permission to use a credit card for all groceries and home health supplies. I kept the family up to date about their father's health and events that I took him to, as well as, expenditures and payroll. My job ended when the family decided, for financial reasons, that their father needed to go into a nursing home.

Nurse Assistant - Certified NA-C

Apr 2013 - May 2014
Evergreen Longterm Care and Rehabilitation
A very challenging position where I learned so much about nursing care. I worked in rehab and longterm care. The nurses were incredible and very willing to teach. The patient/NAC ratio was insufficient which created a very heavy workload and a very stressful working environment. The demands of the job proved to be too much for me and so I left, knowing that I would go into homecare where I could give the quality care that I felt people deserved.

What a great caregiver means to me is to be able to show empathy and compassion toward the clients and families that I work with. By taking the time to fully understand my patient's needs and giving them the patience to work through their rehabilitation at their own pace, I show them that I care about them and that I want to do what I can to help them. I become a caregiver because I enjoy working with people. I love helping the individuals and their families to create the tailored care that is needed. I also enjoy working with the elderly in overcoming the difficulties associated with their health issues and helping them maintain their highest level of Activities Daily Living. The most satisfying part about being a caregiver is knowing that my clients and I foster a bond that makes me feel like a part of their family. In addition, the trust that my client's family put in me to ensure that their love ones are safe and taken care of is quite rewarding. I know how it helps the family feel at ease. One of my personally favorite achievements I'm proud of was helping one of my post-surgery clients at home with PT and OT; and enabling her to walk with a cane again instead of being restricted to a wheelchair.

Hello, my name is Elisa I am 59 years old My caregiving started in 1995 , as my Mother became ill , I knew she would want a high level of in home care that I would personally be able to provide. As her illness became more advanced , it was important to me that she be able to stay in her home where she would be more comfortable. A few time a week turned into every day, then several hours a day. My Mothers wishes to be at home in her time of need was fulfilled . And it was a blessing and a honor to be there for her. I found myself wanting to give other families the same opportunity my Mother was given. I continued working closely with other families as well as with the IHSS of King Co. from 1995 till 2001.Then in California in Contra Costa Co. From 2002 - 2009 then , I returned back to Washington State where I have continued my work with private families. I am available to start giving the best care to your loved ones or yourself and give the same opportunity to remain safely in your home. I am currently approved, on the Home Health Care Registry . Please feel free to see a full work history upon request. References can be provided upon request. I have been given the covid vaccine .
