Hello, My name is Jamaica- yes like the country! I am currently in school finishing up my Pre-Nursing. I have one more semester until I can apply for the Nursing Program so I'm very excited about that. I am currently per-diem at work because of school. I need a more flexible work hours which is why I applied at Carelinx. I grew up in a health care profession family. My mother as well as my three older siblings are all nurses so I'll be the last one left. I've always worked in a medical field. I started as a CNA at a Home Care facility, to a skilled Nursing facility to Kaiser Permanente hospital in Seattle. I love working in the health care field I have an opportunity to grow and challenge myself. I know I am a good fit as a CNA because of my outgoing personality, many say I am very funny and a good listener. I take and handle stress well. My first health care profession was a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant. I became a part of the A-Z Adult Home Care facility's compassionated care-giving team. My job is interacting direction with patients. Although this Home Care facility only had five patients it was a very heavy duty work. I assisted with daily living activities that includes helping patients with personal hygiene, helping with baths and providing patients wi th bedpans. I delivered meals to bed bound patients, turning and ambulating patients and providing plenty of fresh water. Check vital signs and record daily information in the patient's chart. I am familiar with hospital equipment such as Hoyer lifts, oxygen tanks and home dialysis machines. I assist the nurses and other staff as needed.
