My father suffered a Massive stroke, with Brain hemorrhage in 1993. We were told he only had 2 hours to live.. Three months later we were able to bring him home from the rehab center. I was so impressed with the care he received at the hospital, and then at the rehab center, I decided to become a CNA. 2. I enjoy the interactions that I have with my residents, and their family members. I like knowing that I have made a difference in their lives.. 3. I was awarded employee of the month twice in a 5 month period.. And just recently I was able to convince one of my residents who wanted to leave AMA, that it would be better for him if he stayed and got the help and rehab that his doctor felt was necessary for him.. 4. I have been a CNA for 22 years.. In that time I have been able to work in all area's of care. I have worked Long Term Care, Short Stay Care, Memory Care, Transitional Care, Medicare/Medicade, Home Health Care, and Hospice Care.. I am trained in the proper use of all Lifts, Transfers, and use of Gait Belt.. I know how to properly document ADL's, I&O's, Meal Monitors, Showers, and Weights.. I believe in being a team player, in asking for help when needed, I believe the resident always comes first, and their safety is of importance.

Hi, This is part of my cover letter that goes with my Resume; it gives you a very good idea of my desire to be a caregiver.......... I am interested in a position as an IP Caregiver. I am resourceful, compassionate, and outgoing. I believe in excellence and have dedicated myself and my talents to be successful in the endeavor of home healthcare. I am an Artist, and began employment as an caregiver to care for my mother who was elderly, disabled, and suffering from chronic illnesses. She did not want to be placed in a nursing home, but needed full-time care. In the course of her care I became knowledgeable and proficient in the use of respiratory equipment and transfer devices. I became adept in skills of observation, documenting physical, behavioral, and medical information, managing and administering medication, and managing appointment and activity schedules. I worked with Doctors and medical staff to coordinate and implement treatment plans. Now, after 8 ½ years of caregiving experience, I am deeply motivated and committed to continue home healthcare for others. I want to provide quality care to clients with a wide range of disabilities, illnesses, special needs, and/or other challenges who want to continue to live in their homes with grace, dignity, and purpose.
