I've been a family caregiver for about 4 1/2 years. Having a personal family member who is mentally challenged, I understand the vulnerability families face when seeking and trusting someone who can help. Being a caregiver can be honestly stressful and requires a lot of work. At the end of the day, I find the end goal very rewarding in which helping mentally challenged individuals simply live their lives is what keeps me doing the work that I do. I consistently volunteer for the Napa County area "Best Buddies Club." I work with low-income mentally challenged high school youth and mentor them in their studies.
