My experience as a caregiver has helped me to grow into someone that is a compassionate person with a willing heart to help others. The experience that has helped me the most is being there for one person while their health declined. Although this is a hard thing to see it reminded me to be grateful of my own health and was an honor to be present for the family in such a sensitive time. I enjoy making connections with the people that I am with and learning all that I can from their stories and experiences. It is a great privilege to be a comfort and helping hand to others.

I have gone for the last 3 summers and love the opportunity to be that campers "person" for a week. Anything they need, we handle so that they enjoy their camp experience. The different types of disabilities I have experience with are: cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Seizures (various), and have learned to communicate with nonverbal persons or in need of full personal care.
