* Curriculum involved with this position included but not limited to excellent communication skills. With the client, the family and house bond care team like OT, PT, Nurses, Speech and sometimes the Chaplin. * Traveled with member to physician’s appointment, shopping at supermarket, Pharmacy pick up, homecare safety and basic hands-on care with client’s personal and home care needs to safely assist clients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). Called upon by the company to go educate clients and family upon arriving home from hospital regarding how to care for Foley Catheter, or Colostomy bags that it will remain sanitized. * Educating the client often defuses the anxiety they are feeling from the new procedure. Also asked to go to clients that need to have several Insulin shots done daily on them or to assist with Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients. Asked to float to fill-in at varies LTC, Assistant Living and Residential facilities. Cooked, light housekeeping, bathing, grooming and dressing assistance. Helped with personal oral hygiene, Incontinence care, laundry and change of bed linens. Assisted with walking, transfer from bed to chair/wheel chair. Provided companionship, socialization, cognitive stimulation and medication reminders.
