I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I truly love helping people, giving them laughter and making them feel at ease....Hugs and a smile go a long ways!!! I was a dental assistant for 20 plus years..work for three old fashion dentist, that truly cared about their patients as family...when the last one retired, I decided to change careers, I had always wanted to try hospice, after a family member was sick and saw the compassion the aids had , I felt like it was a calling...I have had family members ask me how long I had been in this field, when I told them I changed careers they thought that I had been doing this for years...I have former patients family that would always thank me for caring about their family member...and it really made me feel so happy that I brought joy to someone's life. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is that knowing I made a difference in someone's life is so rewarding to me in my heart!
