I .have over 30 years in health care experience. Worked as a CNA for 7, and then went on to become an RN. I am at a point in my life where I want to get away from the stress, of the 12-16hour shifts and be able to choose my clients. I have always enjoyed children, and children with special needs as well as the elderly. I like being able to get to know them 1:1 so that I can build trust and learn what they need and what makes them happy. I have worked in many different types of settings, all of which I have enjoyed. These are some of the places I have worked. Home care doing visits and shift work, hospitals, nursing homes, and overnight summer camps for handicapped, and other special needs children and adults, ranging in age from 6 to 98. Last summer I worked at a camp for kids who live in the ghettos of Chicago. They were all basically healthy children but, some required medications. I had to do health histories, and emergency and day to day first aid. I am able to manage medications, cook special diets that fit into any restrictions they have. Have worked with infants in their homes. Most of these kids were born with multiple problems and were very ill. Am able to do therapy with them, tube feed, foleys, oxygen, insulin.
