About Anissa

I have worked with seniors on and off for several years. I was a volunteer for a few nursing homes and finally decided to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. I have worked in nursing homes and for home health. I have always loved to care for the elderly since a young age. They are not just 'people' to me, they are my grandfathers and grandmothers. I respect Seniors and know they need lots of love and care. We will all have to go through this stage in life that can be very difficult. How wonderful it would be if we all had compassionate, caring caregivers during this time! I worked midnight shifts for Cumberland Pointe for 6-8 months. I was unable to continue from knee issues. As a state-tested nursing assistant, I helped patients with personal care and grooming, including bathing, dressing, toileting, hair care and skin care. I assisted patients with walking, transferring in and out of wheelchairs and changing position in bed. I fed patients that cannot feed themselves. I monitored patients' vital signs. In addition to providing physical care, I developed relationships with patients and provided companionship and emotional support (which is very important!)
