My name is Odell Bestman I've been a care giver for over 15 years and love what I do. I started caring for others at a tender age. During the Civil War in my country I usually went with my mother to the hospital to volunteer as she tended to patients, she always said to me that caring for others and showing compassion for those in need had the greatest reward anyone could gain. So, I guess that's how my passion for caring for others developed. As I grew older I helped my mother care for my grandmother that's when I fully understood the joy of caring for others and that's why I became a care giver. When I provide care for a mother, father, sister, aunt and so on, and that person says thank you or a family member of that person says thanks for all that you do it reminds me of my mother's words "greatest reward " and that's why I do what I do with so much care and compas

I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

I have been a caregiver for 8 years. Before that I was a Dietary Director for an upscale assisted linlving and a Cafe Manager. I have always enjoyed working with seniors and others that need in-home care. I have been trained in CPR and First=aid. I have been fully vaccinated. Have a clean/clear background check and driving record. I enjoy camping, gardening and art. I go to school part time but it's very flexible. I have 1 son and have been married for 18 years. Native to the CSRA. Very patient and understanding . I know that every situation and family is different. I can respect privacy and confidentiality. I have experience with both day and overnight shifts. I'm flexible with my schedule.

I have over 20 years experience in the health industry as a caregiver, CNA, and health insurance. As this is a passion of mine to assist others. I have assisted many from bedside to personal health carrier advice. 1. Why did you become a caregiver? I love providing home care services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. It gives me joy to see others happy and I enjoy seeing smiles on their faces because of the care they have received. This is a wonderful feeling and makes me feel that I have done my job right. 2. What do you like about being a caregiver? I have always enjoyed helping people. I know that I am doing the right thing. This is why I am pursuing nursing school to further my education. Giving back to others is a blessing in itself! 3. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Setting a good example for my family is very important to me. One of my greatest achievements has been completing my education and my family being able to share in that moment with me as I walked across the stage with my first degree. I will soon be done with my MBA and just got accepted into a nursing program. 4. Tell us something about yourself. I am a very down to earth, caring and compassionate person with a deep sense of values. I am very diverse and love things from politics, music, traveling to reading spiritual, self improvement and motivational books. I love real estate too!

I like to think of myself as passionate and caring. I chose to get into the field of healthcare when I was younger both of my parents were cancer patients and needed help and I just wanted to watching everybody that was always there to help them.
