My name is Melissa. I have been working with Elderly and Disabled people since age 9. I started by Volunteering at a Nursing home ,and then I volunteered to work with disabled people of all ages. I have worked in private homes, for home health agencies, at assisted living and memory care facilities with responsibility for as little as 8 to as many as 25 residents as core staff and for agencies, at rehabilitation centers, with hospice patients, I am very well-rounded in experience and have done just about everything that goes with the job. Caregiving comes natural to me, and I love helping people. I became a caregiver when I started taking care of my grandparents about 25 years ago. When I am providing care to my residents or clients, I treat them as if I would my own grandparents. I know they are happy and very proud of me in the ways I provide care. Hello, my name is Christy I am looking for a few hours on Saturday's, due to working at a school M-F. I am very outgoing and love being a caregiver. I am very observant and pay close attention to detail. I have worked in this field for over 6 years as a supervisor. I first begin this journey and decided this is what I wanted to do when I was 15years old working with my grandfather whom had dementia and was a diabetic. I am happiest when I am helping and caring for others. I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me the opportunity to help families and people when they need it most. Good quality care is hard to find as I saw being a supervisor for years. The families I have supported has thanked me for showing them how their loved ones should be treated and how wonderful I was with each one. I have had wonderful relationships with all of them and even their professionals. I believe it is important to listen to the needs of the families to better care for the Individual. And also communicating when their loved one is having a good or bad day and overall health and wellness. Staying on the same page helps to accomplish the small goals that lead to big goals. One of my greatest achievements was working with an individual who had behavior issues, whom later calm down to the point the doctor was amazed. Taking time to show people you care can impact their lives for the best.

I am a 49 year old nana to 10 beautiful grandbabies. I have worked in nursing homes, and altimzers units, to lock down units. I like to read, watch movies and sing. I also have an associates degree i. Business management. I have had a cna and a medical assisgance license for over 22 years but i let it laps. I have tried other jobs from financing to repossession. Yes it may pay well but it doesnt make my heart feel the way it does when im an helling people. One thing i am most proud of is ive managed to raise 3 beautiful sons and i have had 13 foster kids. You have to patience, understanding and both sympathy and empathy to do this job. You have to care and want to help people. In the end I love the way being a crar giver feels. I love helping families take care of their loved ones so they can keep them at their home.

Caregiving is a second career for me and one I have returned to after my 18 year career with Home Depot as an assistant manager. My license and certifications are listed below and I have been actively caregiving again since January 2016. Being a great caregiver has been very rewarding for me and is one of the most important things I do. My first job as a caregiver was many years ago when I was still in highschool and college.
