Now as a manager of 2 group home I'm looking to expand my knowledge and horizons and the care that I know I can give. I'm very passionate with my work, and put my all in to my work. I'm always on time. And very dependable. I got in to cargiving when my husband at the time was going through the VA and needed extra help with his day to day. A lifetime of helping and caring for others including my own child after being born with a rare congenital heart defect and surgery as a newborn. I'm a nurturer and gain fulfillment from doing what I can to make every day the best day possible for those I care for. My father, a pilot was in an aircraft crash when I was a small child and I helped with his comfort through my childhood. Although I never worked as a professional caregiver until my middle age, I did work as a volunteer for family and friends who needed it in the short term. My enjoyment comes from the smiles I receive and the feeling of making of difference. I am proud that I raised two beautiful daughters, who are now adults who help others and I achieved a 30+ year career in medical transcription. I achieved my bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration and an education in Occupational Therapy. At this time, I am working only part-time on weekends and have my weekdays free and would prefer, at this time, to return to caregiving.

I became a caregiver because of my grandfather who had dementia. I took care of him through the roughest part of his life just trying to make his as comfortable as possible.

I grew up the oldest of 4 children, so I have always been a caregiver and have been draw to helping others. As a child I would volunteer in the special needs classroom during my recess. When I was older I became a teachers aide and then a transportation aide helping special needs students. Now I am a mom to four beautiful children, one of which is special needs. Through all of this I have learned how to handle many medical, physical, and emotional conditions. I gain a great sense of pride from helping others and one of the things I am most proud of is having been a surrogate. After my second child was born I looked into surrogacy as a way to help another couple achieve their dreams of having a family. I carried three wonderful kids for them and I feel good knowing that I was able to help their family. I look forward to helping your family.

I have been a patient myself and I have had loved ones in long term care and understand what they went through, losing your independence and having to trust in the care of others. My Mother was a Nurse for most of her life and I respect her more than anyone else on this planet ,that is what inspired me to get into nursing, I have 25 years experience in most health care settings. I am most proud of being strong, compassionate, empathetic, and technically sound and my best attribute is that I still genuinely care about the well being of others after 25 years of being a care giver.
