For instance I'm very skilled in: Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming and transferring) Meal preparation and scheduling and light housekeeping. General household tasks and companionship Engaging clients in activities such as games and memory books and exercises. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My name is Leah, and I am a 23-year-old college student. My favorite activities involve the outdoors, reading, writing, art, providing care to those around me, learning languages, taking walks/hikes, playing with pets, and visiting with my family. Over the past ten years, I have gained substantial experience in the childcare and healthcare fields, working with individuals of all ages. I also have extensive experience working with special needs, seniors, and the differently abled. I have worked as a caregiver (I am registered with the HCA) for more than five years. I love helping children/people learn and grow at every stage of their lives. I consider myself a great caregiver because I work exceptionally hard to provide the highest level of care to anyone that I interact/work with. Getting to know the personalities of those that I care for/know, and helping them find/relive their passions in life is incredibly important to me. My strengths are that I am responsible, creative, reliable, and caring. I give everyday my full effort, and keep an optimistic outlook on life. I started caregiving right at the beginning of COVID in April of 2020. I was very new to being a caregiver and all of the duties to it, I quickly learned all the responsibilities that it came with . I instantly loved it , and felt a connection with each resident I took care of . What I most enjoy is being there and getting to know my resident because of how different everyone's story is . I really love being a companion and getting to care and love for someone who needs me. I am a patient, caring, understanding caregiver who gets the job done and is also emotionally there for any person I take care of.

I became a caregiver due to the reason of me being interested in the medical field and wanting to help others with critical needs. I am a kind, helpful person and I knew being a caregiver I can show all these characteristics and help those in need. I like being a caregiver because I am able to have direct contact with patients and help them with the best care they deserve. I also enjoy working with patients and able to assist them with all their daily needs. I am a Certified Nurse Assistant with a Home Health Aide Certification. I have volunteered at Palomar Medical Center as an Intern and I know how to handle different situations. I have volunteered my tie in the Oncology, Orthopedic, ICU, and lastly the Emergency Department. I am currently attending college and I am majoring in Human Biology because my goal in life is to become a surgeon and help others.
