I have worked with IHSS for 5 years...I am a senior myself and am intuitive to their needs..I cook and do light cleaning, have administered medication, run errands and shopping. I know that seniors need to feel secure and comfortable, and need companionship in their latter days...I would love to help them with their needs to complete their daily routines so necessary to them to feel complete in life. I am an honest and dependable caregiver with 7 years experience. I have an Associates Degree in Registered Nursing but is yet to be licensed. I have my own transportation. I am a non-smoker and I am comfortable around pets. I have always had a soft spot when it comes to the elderly. I love my grandparents and I base my care towards my patient as I would my own grandparents.

I am a patient happy go lucky person. I am spiritual and like to volunteer with teen mom and the elderly at Board and Care buildings. I volunteered at Toby's House baby sitting for homeless young mothers and train them on how to care for their babies. I volunteered at a Nursing home helping feed the elderly people without families.

I am very passionate in what I do, it gives me a great satisfaction to be a great help to others . I have great pride in what I do and I wouldn't change it for anything. I speak English and Spanish, I have my own transportation , and most importantly I have loving heart.

When I first came to the United States eight years ago I started to work as caregiver. It is very satisfying to be able to help elderly or disabled recipients. My personal achievements are that I am able to understand the needs of the people around me and help them as much as possible. In United States for more than seven years this is my main occupation to care for people in need.

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I saw a lot of seniors being mistreated in public. I like that I can help others be more productive in daily living. I love to plan ahead opposed to being spontaneous and I am sociable, energetic and a bit talkative I am sympathetic I love being kind and I'm happy to help at all times. What attracted me to being a caregiver was my mother I was able to to help take care of her before she passed away it gave me the courage the knowledge and wisdom to help others. I became a Caregiver because I love to help people, be of service to others and I consider myself to be a very compassionate person. My personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating from college with my B.A. degree in Sociology and graduating with my M.A. degree in Psychology. I became a caregiver while attending nursing school, i originally wanted to become a architect but once my brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia, i changed my major to RN/ Clinical Psychology. I feel that i am a great caregiver because i do this because i like it. Working in the medical field and helping people is something i truly am passionate about. I enjoy helping people that are not fully capable of taking care of themselves. It can mean to motivate someone and helping them be independent once again or if someone is fully disabled physically to help them so that they wont disable themselves mentally and still continue to live the rest of their lives. I am 22 years old, i do not have 30 years of experience but i have heart and dedication. During high school i was captain of an 80 girl track team. There i learned punctuality, responsibility, determination and discipline.

I became a caregiver on 2004 and it was my first job. The things that I love most being a care giver is that I am able to help patients/Clients according to the kind of care they need that makes them happy and comfortable, being able to relate to them as well as their daily needs and wants. I am proud to be a care giver because I am emphatic and have more patience and a hardworking person, I also have the knowledge and skills that relates to Human Services and Natural Sciences that will be applicable to human understanding, their thoughts and feeling to certain things; depending to their kind of personalities.
