My passion has always been to help others and I decided to start as soon as I could with caregiving to be able to do so while also preparing myself for my profession in nursing. I will make sure to take good care of my patients as best as I could with empathy and kind heartedness. I have assisted patients with daily living activities, taken vitals, administered medications as a student nurse, engaged in conversations, and maintained household cleanliness. The reason for becoming a caregiver is that I wanted more 1 to 1 interactions with patients being that working at the hospital patients come and go and it's extremely difficult to build relationships. I have since taken care of a patient (hired privately) for 3 years and she has now passed. I am looking to care for someone wholeheartedly & willing to build relationships with the family as well in order to achieve the best quality of life to those in need.

My background consists of more than ten years of experience in private home care for bedridden, physically disabled, children and adults with trachs, and dialysis patients and in hospital settings of Medsurg and Rehab. Sustained by advanced communication, team collaboration, and multitasking capabilities, I excel at providing exceptional organizational and time-management skills. In all, I work hard to execute patient care with end results of efficiency and success. Highlights of my experience include: * Helping improve customer service ratings within department (from %63 to an 84%) by making sure patients are satisfied before leaving their rooms and providing effective communication; also training new hires how to be effective caretakers while limiting stress between providers and patients. * Assisting bedridden patients with limited range of motion with their activities of daily living including keeping them on a turn system every two hours; providing in house therapy to patients who has experienced a stroke; assisting patients who chose to do manual dialysis in the comfort of their home * Ambulating patients to help them prepare for their transition to rehab. * Also, being in my third year of nursing school has also provided me with insight to help me become more effective in being aware of any signs of health failure in patients. I am personable and enjoy participating in the process of a patient recovering. What attracted me to becoming a CNA is that I am in the process of becoming a nurse; I wanted to get my feet wet in health care while getting an education. The thing I enjoy the most about being a CNA is getting to know the residents at the facilities that I have worked at and doing my part in making their recovery experience a little less painful. A personal achievement that I am proud of is being on the Dean's list for three terms in a row.

Hello, my name is Mina; whom is an experienced caregiver who worked with agencies for about 3 years as well as did some private home care for 3 years as well. I am enthusiastic with my clients and would like to create a caring environment alongside providing their needs. Also, being a nursing student this allows me to expand my interest base and experience through working with clients and their lovely homes.

Having about 7 years of experience ranging from hands on patient care in a hospital and hospice setting to customer service and education has provided me with a multitude of skills and experience. Working part time as a full-time student has taught me time management, prioritization and organization. I am eager and motivated to gain more experience as well as apply what I have learned throughout my educational career towards future positions to provide the best quality of care and service to those most vulnerable.

Nearing the age of 50, it makes me think about what I would like to pursue before my time is up. It's not easy to decide with such little time left. But, with great thought I found an urge to help others, especially vulnerable seniors. Volunteering at Hospice of the West, my vision became clear and my compassion towards seniors has never been greater. Now I feel that it is my turn to carry on my passion by helping the seniors in need and setting an example of a great caregiver. Putting myself in some other persons shoes, I understand how much pressure and difficulty an elderly will endure, once being so independent and strong yet becoming so dependent and weak. That is why I feel a connection, and a duty, to help the elderly get back the life they once had. And personally, I enjoy listening to the elderly's experiences, stories, memories, and wisdom as I feel they will help me live the last part of my life to the fullest.

I was first a caregiver to my grandmother, who was hospitalized after fracturing her back.
