Enthusiastic, dependable, and ambitious caregiver. Helping patients and their families have a sense of security has always been extremely rewarding to me. I love being able to connect with every patient on a personal level and seeing how happy they are in having someone to accompany them. A personal achievement of mine is being a first generation college student. I am on track to graduate as an economics major on the pre med track and pursue a degree in healthcare.

I retired early to take care of my mother for a couple of years as she had Alzheimer and needed a care giver full time. I enjoyed taking care of my mom and was fortunate enough to be able to retire earlier in my life. I gained a tremendous amount of experience taking care of my mother. I became a care giver because I have compassion for the elderly and I enjoy working with people in general. I would want someone like me to take care of their loved one because I know I care about the quality and love that is needed in the caregiving role. I care for my patients just as though they were my own parents. I have over 6 years of experience in care giving both private and also with a caregiving agency. For the past year I had been with an Alzheimer patient where I took care of her daily needs. She has recently passed away so I am looking to care for another patient. I took care of another women named Pat for over 2 years. She too had an advance stage of Alzheimer which like my mom, eventually took her life. I cared for her as though I was caring for my mom. I became very close to Pat's family and friends.

I entered this profession from an entirely different career path and enjoy every minute of it. I became a caregiver because it enables me to make a difference in the lives of those who cannot care for themselves and at the same time provides an opportunity for me to learn and grow. I enjoy interacting with patients, learning about their lives and challenges, making their lives easier and also learning about medicine and how it impacts our quality of life in every way. I am proud of the fact that I have gained so many skills and that I can use these to benefit others. I speak Spanish at intermediste level and take every opportunity to practice

My education and patience to support her developmentally change that she goes through. Their needs of emotional and physical issues that they face. Talking about their different backgrounds that they come from, Reading a book for her, asking her to help me or just talking to each other. I learned to be more patient.
